Career Summary


Dr Ahmed received his BSc (First Class Honour) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering department, University of Khartoum, Sudan in 2004. Completed both MSc and PhD at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Malaysia in 2008 and 2014, respectively. Dr Ahmed research interest are in Optical Fiber Communications and Networks, Information Theory and Coding, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), Communications System design and Computer Architecture. He is IEEE member since 2014 and was a student member since 2007. Dr Ahmed is also a regular reviewer for a number of international journals and conferences. Dr Ahmed has taught the following courses: Optical Networks (MSc), Embedded Computer Architecture (MSc), Directed Projects for Embedded Systems (MSc), Communication Systems (MSc), Advanced Numerical Methods (MSc), Research Methodology (MSc+BSc), Optical Fiber Communications (BSc), Data and Computer Networks (BSc), Digital Communications (BSc), Analogue Communications (BSc), Information Theory and Coding (BSc), Microprocessor and Assembly Language (BSc), Computer Interfacing (BSc), Computer Organization and Architecture (BSc), Parallel Processors (BSc), Digital Design (BSc), and Data Structures (BSc).
